You make assumptions regarding volumes, service delivery, technology, costs, and organizational objectives. But that reality does not stand still.\n\nThe number of users changes. Technology evolves. The organization\u2019s priorities shift. Services are scaled up, scaled down, or restructured. Yet, IT contracts are frequently managed as if the premises upon which they were built remain unchanged for years on end.\n\nA mature approach to IT Contract Lifecycle Management, therefore, looks beyond the simple question of whether a supplier is fulfilling the agreed-upon terms. This represents a significant change in volume\u2014one that could potentially affect the price per user.\n\nFurthermore, even if a supplier is delivering the agreed-upon services, technological innovations and market developments may have since introduced alternatives that are more modern, more efficient, and better suited to current needs.\n\nThe same applies to KPIs. A response time that was considered essential a few years ago may no longer be the best indicator of quality today. Factors such as user experience, availability, or the speed at which changes can be implemented may have become far more relevant. This effectively turns a contract into a hypothesis: at the outset, you establish the assumptions under which the partnership is expected to generate value. Throughout the term of the contract, you must continuously verify whether those assumptions remain valid.\n
